## LibrePlanet 2010, Conferencia de la comunidad del software libre: Marzo 19 al 21
LibrePlanet 2010 contará con talleres sobre las herramientas de software libre más utilizadas para trabajar en la web, vídeo, gráficos y desarrollo de software. Usted podrá enterarse de los últimos desarrollos en el Proyecto GNU, servicios libres de redes, radio digital, voice-over-IP, encriptación, licencias de software, formatos para media, y ver la "premiere" del nuevo film sobre patentes de software. Es mas, este año, la LibrePlanet, conversará con Usted sobre cómo puede investirse con las comunidades del software libre, devenir un mentor de los proyectos free software, y cómo los que no sean programadores pueden tomar roles de importancia en los proyectos del software libre.
Los tres días de conferencia se llevarán a cabo en Cambridge, Massachusetts, en la Harvard University Science Center, desde el 19 al 21 de marzo del 2010.

El grupo creado "Apple Restriction Zones" a lo largo de los conceptos vertidos en el Yerba Buena Center for the Arts en San Francisco, informa a los periodistas sobre los derechos a los que Apple debería renunciar en el interior de su producto.
La respuesta a nuestra protesta y petición por la iPad ha sido rutilante. Defective by Design libró las primeras 5000 firmas en una tableta iPad gigante, directamente a Steve Jobs. Enviaremos otra tableta y nuevas tabletas por cada 5000 firmas recopiladas.
## La Free software se une al esfuerzo humanitario en Haiti, y cómo puede Usted ayudar
OpenStreetMap y Sahana son dos proyectos free software que han facilitado la ayuda en Haiti.
## El ganador de FSFE Theodor Heuss Medal
La Fundación Theodor Heuss ha anunciado que la Free Software Foundation Europa ha sido galardonada con la medalla Theodor Heuss Medal 2010, por su contribución "al desarrollo y establecimiento de normas de buena gobernanza mundial."
## ¡Steven DuBois es el miembro "GNU Generation" de este mes!

## Free Software Foundation una nueva objeción a modificación de la solución archivos de Google Book Search
La FSF presentó otra objeción a la Corte. La objeción se centra en la propuesta de modificación de la solución "Google Book Search". En las notas de la objeción, en las enmiendas propuestas entran en debate aquellas obras bajo licencias libres, a las que injustamente se le impone la carga a sus autores con la garantía de cumplimiento de la licencia, se insta al tribunal a rechazar la solución propuesta, a menos que incorpore términos que brinden mejores respuestas a las necesidades de los autores utilizando licencias libres como la GFDL.

Google ha cerrado la ventana de información sobre HTML5, aduciendo que todas las voces han sido escuchadas. Sin embargo, cualquier mención a Ogg, brilla por su ausencia.

## Australia: es el momento de tomar acción contra las patentes de software
Australia parece estar encaminándose a legislar las patentes de software en el 2010. Tenemos una buena y una mala noticia. La mala noticia es que hubo una consulta, y perdimos. La buena noticia es que la consulta era sólo un paso preliminar, por lo que si empezamos a organizarnos ahora, todavía estamos en condiciones de participar plenamente en la fase legislativa.
## Página de orientación de patentes, la USPTO, y Usted
Cuando las personas o equipos en la USPTO detectan que un fax ha sido enviado al reves, debiendo hacerlo rotar unos 180 °, ¿qué hacen?, Pues lo reenvían, solicitando, que esta véz, lo hagan en sentido correcto. ¿Por qué no hacer que esta tarea, ta obvia, se haga de manera automática?
## Carta de Hamakor a la Oficina de Patentes Israelir
En respuesta a la consulta que nos ha sido formulada por la Oficina Israelí de Patentes de Software, el grupo free software, Hamakor, ha montado, on line, una respuesta resumida (que contiene links a buenas referencias). ¡Buen trabajo Hamakor!
## Proyecto TinyOgg: videos Flash
El voluntario de la FSF y miembro de la GNU Generation, Osama Khalid, acaba de lanzar una gran herramienta: TinyOgg. TinyOgg toma un enlace al video Flash (boo!) y devuelve un enlace al video en Ogg (hooray!).

## LibrePlanet 2010 free software community conference: March 19-21
LibrePlanet 2010 will feature workshops on the most widely used free software tools for working with the web, video, graphics and software development. You can learn about the latest developments in the GNU Project, free network services, digital radio, voice-over-IP, encryption, software licensing, media formats, and view the premiere of a new film on software patents. Plus at this year's LibrePlanet we'll be discussing how you can successfully engage with free software communities, mentor free software projects, and how non-coders can take up important roles in free software projects.
The three-day conference will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Harvard University Science Center, from March 19th to March 21st, 2010.
## Defective by Design at iPad unveiling, delivers 5,000 anti-DRM signatures to Jobs
The group set up "Apple Restriction Zones" along the approaches to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, informing journalists of the rights they would have to give up to Apple before proceeding inside.
The response to our iPad protest and petition has been tremendous. Defective by Design delivered the first 5,000 signatures on a giant iPad tablet, direct to Steve Jobs. We'll send another tablet for each new block of 5,000 signatures.
## Free software in the Haiti aid effort, and how you can help
OpenStreetMap and Sahana are two free software projects that are facilitating aid to Haiti.
## FSFE wins Theodor Heuss Medal
The Theodor Heuss Foundation has announced that Free Software Foundation Europe has been awarded the 2010 Theodor Heuss Medal for its contribution "to the development and establishment of rules for good global governance."
## Steven DuBois is the GNU Generation member of the month!
Steven is an official FSF campaigns volunteer. He edited an enormous amount of video for the FSF, as well as assisting on Software Freedom Day 2009 and the launch of our Windows 7 Sins Campaign back in August.
## Free Software Foundation files new objection to amended Google Book Search settlement
The FSF filed another objection in court to the proposed amended Google Book Search settlement. The objection notes that proposed amendments which discuss works under free licenses unfairly burden their authors with ensuring license compliance, and urges the court to reject the proposed settlement unless it incorporates terms that better address the needs of authors using free licenses like the GFDL.
## Ask YouTube for Ogg support!
Google has closed the window on HTML5 feedback, saying that peoples' voices have been heard. However, notably absent is any mention of Ogg.
## Windows 7 Sins now in 9 languages!
Our campaign for computer user freedom, Windows 7 Sins, now has 6 language translations available with several more on the way.
## Australia: time for software patent action
Australia seems to be headed for software patent legislation in 2010. The bad news is that there was a consultation, and we missed it. The good news is that the consultation was just a preliminary step, so if we start organising now, we can still participate fully in the legislative phase.
## Page orientation patents, the USPTO, and you
When people or computers at the USPTO detect that a fax has been sent upsidedown and needs to be turned 180°, what do they do? They send it back and ask you to turn it 180°. Why donât they do this obvious task themselves automatically?
## Letter to Israeli Patent Office, from Hamakor
In response to the Israeli Patent Offices consultation about software patents, free software group Hamakor has submitted a brief (that linked page contains many other good links). Great work Hamakor!
## TinyOgg project liberates Flash videos
FSF volunteer and GNU Generation member Osama Khalid just launched a great tool: TinyOgg. TinyOgg takes in a link to a Flash video (boo!) and spits out a link to an Ogg video (hooray!).
